From South Korea to Southeast Kansas

Once again, the Benson's are "hosting" international students at PSU. The three young men we have this semester are all friends from South Korea. Young Chan Chae, Man Woo Heo (Carrick), and JinHa Kim (Jin).

The boys and I met them on campus, Friday, and then they joined us for a very American dinner of BBQ Ribs and grilled chicken, on Sunday. Braden and Mason are thrilled to have them to entertain. After dinner, they performed a dance to the very popular Korean son Gangnam Style! I'm sure these guys have only heard that song a million times, but they were good sports about Braden and Mason's performance.

Traveling Dragons

 Braden is about to wrap up his season as a traveling basketball player for the Pittsburg Dragons. This past weekend their tournament was held in Mount Vernon, Missouri. Although the lost all three games, they certainly played hard and learned a lot.

Braden is not a started, but sees game time. More than anything he's had a lot of fun playing with these guys, and learning from Coach Roelfs.

 This is how he spends the majority of the games.....entertaining himself and his bench mates!

 Note the look of focus and concentration here....it's mainly because he saw Blake with the camera!

2013 Cardinals Caravan

 Once again the Cardinals made an appearance in Joplin, Mo. Blake took the boys over to get their baseballs signed and shake a few hands. In true Benson style, they were there early enough to be 20th in line, out of about 400 people. This made quite an impression on Braden, but I'm not sure how much he enjoyed the 12 hour wait (just kidding...it was only 2)

Happy Birthday, to Mom....without Photoshop

 As you can see, my guys once again made sure I had an amazing birthday! Blake and I had the rare treat of spending the weekend away.....without these two monkeys!!! It doesn't happen near enough, and when it does we appreciate ever second.

On Sunday night, Blake cooked a delicious meal of salmon patties, and Mason helped him bake the brownies.

Yes, that says 37, and if you look closely you can see every fine line and wrinkle. I did NOT Photoshop myself....this time!

 I am so thankful that the giant blob of vanilla ice cream on Mason's spoon did NOT fall!
